The event was sponsored by MariVanna, a trendy NYC restaurant, and St-Petersburg Global Trade House, the largest Russian products seller in North America. St-Petersburg was established in 1994 and originally specialized in Russian books, movies and music. The company gradually changed its emphasis toward Russian-made products that could be used around the house, such as housewares, bedding and unique gifts and souvenirs. The Fair attracted over 200 guests, including Greenwich's First Selectman, Peter J. Tesei. Everyone was inspired by the exclusive opulence of hand-made souvenirs, luxury Russian/ Ukrainian Christmas ornaments, and other gift items, presented by St-Petersburg Global Trade House. A portion of all proceeds for the event will be donated to Greenwich Hospital, oncology unit. The Russian community of Greenwich united to support the Greenwich Hospital oncology unit.
